RSV Shot (Beyfortus)
Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you and your family well. As we approach the colder months, we want to ensure that your baby is protected against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), a common virus that can cause severe respiratory illness in infants. RSV is especially dangerous for babies under 12 months, and is the leading cause of hospitalization. Fortunately, there is now an RSV shot available to infants less than 8 months of age that can help reduce the risk of severe illness. (If you received a RSV Vaccination while pregnant at least 2 weeks before you delivered, you do not need the Beyfortus.)
We are strongly encouraging you to consider getting the RSV shot, Beyfortus (Nirsevimab), for your baby. Please see the information below on this RSV shot.
If you have any questions or need more information about the RSV shot, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for taking this important step to protect your baby’s health.
Warm Regards,
Fort Wayne Pediatrics Physicians
